Hernandez's double-double lands him Liga MB Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

41-year old Colombian center John Hernandez (207-C-1984) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Santiagueno BC and receives a Hoops Agents Liga MB Player of the Week award for round 3.
He had a double-double of 15 points and 30 rebounds, while his team beat Ahuachapan (#7, 1-2) 93-78. Santiagueno is placed at 6th position in Salvadorean Liga MB. Santiagueno is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 1-1 record. Hernandez turned to be Santiagueno's top player in his first season with the team. Hernandez has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (7th best: 19.0ppg) and averages solid 1.5bpg.

Second best performed player last round was Michael Hinestroza (210-C-1990) of Salvadorenos BC. He is Venezuelan-Colombian center in his first season at Salvadorenos. In the last game Hinestroza recorded an impressive double-double of 14 points and 12 rebounds. Of course he led Salvadorenos to another comfortable win 70-56 over Brujos (0-3) being unquestionably team leader. The season is still at the very beginning and this victory may help a lot. Let's wait for the next round. Hinestroza is a newcomer at Salvadorenos and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Noryen Lasley (201-F, agency: Fully Feared Sports) of Independiente (#9). Lasley scored 25 points and grabbed 12 rebounds (!!!). Despite Lasley's great performance the Independiente lost 66-89 to Metapan (#1, 3-0). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Independiente not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 2 games, recording just one victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Lasley could try to bring Independiente's a little bit higher in the standings. Lasley has individually a great season in El Salvador. After only 3 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 15.3rpg (3rd best).
